In a perfect world, many of us have just received paychecks, so we ought to serve notice: start making a budget.
Why, you ask?
Well, my friends, there is a barrage of new music coming! And you know that also means an onslaught of release parties!
Woo-hoo!
Some of the hot new sounds have already arrived: 88 Balaz, KoOk… Many are courtesy of you and me, via our tax money, in the form of GIO grants.
OCD Girl (a teaser here and release party) is one such band with an imminent release that I'm especially looking forward to.
The full list of recipients can be seen here. Though we don't have all the details on every band, we'll of course let you know when we learn anything. As always. :)
Other bands are still doing it the old-fashioned way: DIY. Look out for fresh music from The Okay Cars. Their party is scheduled at Revolver Sept 27 with new act Wildeer, featuring members of 1976, Macbeth, and Telephone Booth.
Also bringing the noise: Sleaze, release party Sept 21 @ Underworld, and Floaty, release party Sept 29 @ Underworld w/ Roxymoron)
Other rumored CDs are said to be from Manic Sheep and Aphasia.

Floaty is an artist, musician, DJ, and writer. He claims music has saved his soul a bazillion times over. He's pretty bad at math, but in this case, it sounds about right.
